Ancillary Specialist - Cook & Housekeeping

Role 
The role of the Ancillary Specialist is to provide kitchen, cleaning, and other services as needed that support the provision of a client care in the residential facility or facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a clean and sanitary workplace.
  • Ensure a safe workplace.
  • Prepares and provides meals for the clients and business functions of the agency.
  • Assistance in cleaning or meal preparation during any disaster or emergency situation.

Tasks

Kitchen

  • Prepares and cooks meals for 15 clients.
  • Occasionally prepare meals for business functions.
  • Washes and sanitizes dishes after every use and every meal.
  • Clean the range, oven and other appliance used for preparation of meals.
  • Clean countertops and areas where food is prepared.
  • Clean refrigerators and freezers as needed following a weekly schedule.
  • Clean and organize food pantry as needed following a weekly schedule.
  • Stores and put all vegetables and groceries in their respective places immediately upon arrival.
  • Mop and sweep floors and kitchen mats.
  • Makes a list of groceries and vegetables needed for every week.
  • Date and label all food stored in refrigerators, freezers, and other storage inside the kitchen.
  • Empty and remove trash from containers and install liners every day.
Cleaning

      Daily

  • Clean bedroom and bathroom floors.
  • Clean and sanitize all bathrooms.
  • Replenish paper goods including toilet seat covers, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Empty all wastebaskets and replace liners in bedrooms, group rooms, and bathrooms.
  • Cleans all group rooms and their bathrooms.
  • Cleans the all furniture in the group rooms, including couches, tables, and chairs.
  • Cleans and sanitize the facility rooms.
  • Wash all the mops used for cleaning.
  • Run the sweeper machine throughout the entire building, using care and posting signs for “CAUTION WET FLOOR”.
     Once weekly and as needed
  • Clean Administrative offices.
  • Clean and/ or vacuum and wax floors.
  • Dust furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean and sanitize attached bathrooms.
  • Replenish paper goods in the bathrooms.
  • Empty wastebaskets and replace liners.
  • Clean and sanitize all 3 shower and tub rooms.
  • Scrub floors and walls.
  • Refill bath soap and shampoo dispensers.

What We Need From You

  • You need to be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid ID, Passport, Social Security Card or work permit
  • Ability to pass a physical exam (push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods).
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Physical condition sufficient to engage in frequent to continuous standing, walking, lifting, carrying objects, assisting with transfers, pushing pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, running.
  • Ability to clear a criminal background check with DOJ/FBI.
  • Speak, read and write in English
  • Attends and completes orientation as assigned.
