Registered Nurse (RN) Consultant for an Interdisciplinary Behavior Support Team

 

Seeking an RN who enjoys using a repertoire of nursing knowledge, the nursing process, and working with a multidisciplinary team. The Enhanced Behavioral Supports Home provides children with developmental disabilities and severe mental health issues the opportunity to live and participate in a community setting. This is an exciting position for an individual who desires to learn from an expert team and expand your knowledge base in behavioral therapies, autism, mental health care, and developmental disabilities. The RN is responsible for health assessments, communicating with other providers, training direct care personnel, and ensuring care for four youth with a variety of challenges. The position requires the ability to self-direct and use leadership skills. While working with the team, the RN has opportunities to develop skills at their pace as a nurse case manager, nurse educator, and administrator. Hours are flexible and directed by the residents’ cases, team, and administrator; averages 20-30 per month, with the option of adding more facilities.

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed RN with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Good assessment and writing skills
  • Computer abilities including Microsoft Word
  • Driver’s license in good standing
  • Covid-19 vaccination required upon hire or within 60 days of hire
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to provide phone coverage 24/7 in cooperation with a team of RNs
  • Available to see residents when not in school or day program
  • Ability to clear a criminal background check with DOJ/FBI
  • Speak, read, and write in English. Spanish as a second language is a bonus.
  • Physical condition sufficient to respond with crisis prevention techniques.

 

Responsibilities

  • Incidental nursing assessment and care of acute and chronic health conditions
  • Monthly notes, quarterly assessments, full written assessments semi-annually
  • Drug regimen monitoring
  • Coordination of physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Training and supervision of paraprofessionals in medication administration and healthcare activities
  • Incident Reviews
  • Program audits
